We will also be using the Teatro alla Scala website to locate and ‘purchase’ a ticket to a performance and discuss this with a friend during a phone conversation (role-play). Andiamo a La Scala (external website).
Andiamo a Venezia:
Last term we “went to” Venezia (Venice). We looked at getting to and around Venezia. We learnt how to read a train and vaporetto timetable, how to buy a ticket, how to ask for and understand directions and how to find out what to do and see in Venezia. We also looked at what makes Venezia such an interesting and unique place. The focus was on speaking: asking and answering questions. Students prepared and performed short role-plays, incorporating the language they have learnt. For information on Venezia see: Temi - Venezia To practise some of the language you need go to: Languages Online: Modes of transport: 24 ore, Alla stazione, Quando parte il treno?
